The only discrepancy on the guitar is that there's an X under the gloss finish. The guitar's original Les Paul Junior single"Dog-Ear" P90 pickup with wrap-around bridge set-up was modified to a dual pickup with tune-o-matic bridge and tail piece(to allow Frey greater accuracy in setting intonation) and with the new bridge installed, Frey set about installing an additional"Dog-Ear" P90 neck pickup along with a Fender 3-way selector switch to allow for individual pickup selection. Frey's go-to guitar is not a genuine Gibson Les Paul Junior, it was a Japanese copy featuring a bolt-on neck construction that Frey refinished and heavily modified to his own personal specifications.
